Coronavirus and cortisol

I wonder if there is utility of blocking cortisol in Coronavirus. There is evidence that higher cortisol / stress can reactivate a number of viruses. More importantly there is some evidence that T-cells are influenced by cortisol responses to viral infections. In SARS research - which is a good model for the current Coronavirus demonstrates that if you deplete CD4 T cells that you have higher replication of the virus and a greater viral disease effect in mice models. There is also evidence to suggest that outcomes in SARS in humans were directly related to a T Cell response and cortisol interferes with this process. This could be a potential for Actinogen to have a drug that may reduce viral load, reduce community infection rates and potentially improve severity of disease all via targeting cortisol. There is also a post Sars syndrome where you have cognitive defects and this links to persistent low cortisol - it may be during the virus infection that you have a hyper response to cortisol (stress response) that then blunts cortisol during recovery. It may be that blocking cortisol also blocks this post cognitive effects due to a brain pituitary axis disturbance and you have some protection.

IMHO may be some opportunity for grants (non diluting money) if you have a well developed drug target should be low risk for the Gov to provide some grant funds to urgently target Coronavirus solutions. It is off target to current focus but would also generate some redundancy funding for things that need to be done and could be leveraged with Gov funding. Also likely to create investor interest while other stocks are tanking today.
