    Elimination does not mean living in total isolation to the rest of the world. Following the Trumpist approach does.

    We need to get our priorities right.

    What is more important? 1) The ability to travel any where in the world at any time or 2) the opportunity to live a normal life at home and restrict travel to those countries and regions with an extremely low virus count? (the travel bubble idea).

    Economically we need to work back from what we must do to retain and grow our key exports.

    - global stimouous programs will probably keep our mineral exports alive.
    - energy exports won't be worth much but open borders won't help that one (we can however build gas pipelines);
    - agriculture should continue to do well (rain permitting);
    - education can be grown post-Trump because the PRC has largely emiminated the virus from many key provinces and there are other Asian nations with similar results. Participants would require a clear PCR and ab test. More broadly, our educative and research processes need to be modernised, strengthened as world collaborators. Collaboration needs to replace fake competition in this space.
    - Tourism from PRC can restart post-Trump. The NZ bubble can open if and when the Victorian outbreak is controlled. (If the ab test showed previous exposure but the PCR is clear, repeat the PCR a week later.)
    - Biotech and pharma could do very well because a clean / largely virus free environment facilitates clinical trial processes that cannot be conducted where the virus is endemic.
    - There is a lot of talk about Australia becoming more resilient and diversifying import and export destinations. Virus laden economies will remain in the slow lane for the foreseeable future there will be opportunites for agile economies that can remain in the fast lane.
    - There is opportunity to align our stimulous to actual economic capacity (rather than just giving punters more money to spend on big tvs, grog and gambling).
