Two things
They don't understand business IE they are bad managers
and
They think they are gods
Due to the above and the closed shop situation they work in, they make an enormous number of mistakes and have no reason to improve as they is no oversight
The takeover by big business, the pandering to politicians for the purpose of increasing the money supply have all combined to gradually destroy the once fabulous health system we once had
As the patient rarely pays for the service (Medical insurance) that avenue of oversight is also gone, I know personally if I had been in control of money ( not med ins) , I would never have paid them due to their incompetence, just waited for them to try and sue me
