Fair point about not using mortality rate as an indicator of the severity. I do happen to understand the difference between a haemoraghic fever and a corona virus as virology is an interest of mine. I was responding to someone else's comment who mentioned Ebola. Perhaps I should have not been so flippant. However the latest news I've read in this Coronavirus is that it's mortality rate is lower than SARS (another Coronavirus) that had a mortality rate of about 10%. As such I still believe this is an over reaction. However there is always a chance the virus can mutate and become more virulent and dangerous. In order to "balance" my post, yes there is risk however I still think it's lower than panic is indicating.
