    DaveR; spoton!

Until the incredibly courageous and independent International Consortium of Investigative Journalists [ICIJ] started blowing the whistle on how the uber-wealthy, governments and corporations collude to avoid tax, launder money and even assist the black economy; it was difficult to prove what they were up to.

Now we even have Australia's largest corporation facing a dreadfully watered-down and limited RC to explain matters such as interest rate fixing and money laundering.

The very recent release of the ICIJ's ever-growing 'Paradise Papers' and searchable database has exposed how governments such as the USA suppress information and the likes of the UK foster tax havens.

If the ALP wins the next election our future will depend on it having the courage to tackle corporate corruption and subterfuge in Australia and beyond.
