Hi Zimm
I'm far from an expert on gas transmission, but my understanding is that the pipeline (at least from Dampier to Bunbury, and I guess by extension the rest of the network) transports mostly methane and possibly some ethane. Absolutely no LPGs or liquids allowed, which counts out Propane and Butane and other heavier hydrocarbons.
So this means that Buru will require a substantial processing facility (aka Moomba?) sited somewhere in the Canning Basin. Maybe this is the reasoning behind Barnett's continued interest in the JPP land. However, I would have thought that going further inland would be less problematic in an environmental sense, if not in the Heritage sense.
