Jaolsa - I am sorry if I have mis-read your remarks. But having re-read them I can't help feel you were giving the poor old prophet a bit of a serve. But then again I could be wrong.

Voltaire - I admire your commitment to the wizardry of technical analysis and have no desire to change your mind. Having said that, my position also remains unchanged; I remain a technical analysis athiest and will continue to proselytize this cause. In doing so I note that the market will move either up or down, and you therefore have a 50-50 chance of getting it right. You choose to refine these odds by drawing lines on a chart, whereas I prefer to look at the extrinsic factors that influence our ever day lives. Time will tell which one of us is right.

I thought your remarks on quantative analysis were a bit precious. These techniques are in widespread use in all the sciences, and to scrub them, would cause chaos beyond your imagination
