    Each to their own I say.

    When markets turn gradually with fundamentals then your approach seems fine.

    The trouble is that markets are a discounting mechanism, looking 6 to 18 months ahead.

    I picked the 2003 bottom to within 1 point weeks in advance, but quantative analysis says I couldn't.

    That's not the only time so don't say it was a fluke.

    There are lots of times when time and price potentials are temporary or even don't amount to anything and so one needs to be cautious in that regard.

    Picking tops and bottoms is not essential to trading and I regard it as the fun part and give it a low priority.

    It is my opinion that those without expertise in TA try to excuse their ignorance by calling it names and belittling those who find it works.

    You seem to be intelligent and rational in your comments so I respect your posts which I can't say for some others.
