Mining Potential Explored as part of Resource Corridors Identified by Geoscience Australia
Two new resource potential corridors stretching the length of mainland will be the focus of a $125 million expansion of the Exploring For the Future program. The corridors run through 5 Australian states and the Northern Territory.
The Eastern Corridor runs through all of HAV's mineral tenements in northeastern South Australia, in the Curnamona Craton.
Based on pre-existing data and information, even at this early stage, the Federal Government thinks that both corridors have potential for new discoveries of groundwater, conventional and unconventional oil and gas, and a wide range of minerals including gold, base metals and critical minerals:
"Over the next four years we will partner with these jurisdictions on regional-scale projects that will help to fill in the data and knowledge gaps of where new resources are located," Dr Heap said.
Along with the AuScope Curnamona Earth Imaging Project that the Federal Government is investing over $1 million in to map the entire geological Curnamona Province in 3D to help find new deposits, see Post #:45789120, this will provide additional data for incorporation into Havilah's data sets.
Given the massive amounts of data that are expected to be generated by these 2 Federal Government programs, using AI and machine learning to develop exploration targets seems like a natural fit for the mining industry.
