About the only amusing aspect of this whole terrible saga regarding Metgasco's travails for me is how consistently and persistantly you are in running interference on behalf of the conservative political forces at play here.
Bill Heffernan is not a feral or greenie but a long term representative of the Liberal Party yet several years ago I personally heard him say in effect that the csg sector will develop in NSW over his dead body.
Alan Jones is considered the favorite shock jock of the likes of John Howard and Tony Abbott because of his stridently conservative agenda and yet he has been amongst the most ardent in his attempts at thwarting the gas industry in NSW.
The National Party, who are admittedly mostly agrarian socialists in the main, are usually considered to be amongst the most conservative of political movements in Australia and yet in NSW they went to the last several elections on the promise of opposing the csg sector.
And the current NSW government is a main-stream conservative one, with an overwhelmingly dominant position in the lower house and with a majority in the upper house that does not rely in any way on the support of the lefties. The simple fact is that it is solely the current Liberal leadership in NSW that keeps frustrating the gas companies in that jurisdiction.
The greens and ferals are just as active and determined in Qld and SA as they are in NSW but neither the Labor government in SA nor the conservative government in Qld have used that opposition as an excuse to block the gas companies from making progress.
But still every couple of days you rally the troops with posts attacking the greenies. Mate the greenies are not going to go away or change their world-view so I suggest you save your breath. What you, or at least those willing to see things as they really are, need to do is to find out how to change the resolve of the conservative leadership in NSW. Unless the conservatives in NSW change their view of the gas industry then it simply has no future there imo.
