Yuppies emerge - self created -because he has created the conditions in which they can thrive and prosper.

He doesn't make the decision to buy the huge block on a trendy estate - where only the White House or its equivalant is smiled on. No little shacks here!

To choose the hghest price designer mansion - two story five bedrrom three bathroom jobs. Plus fully landscaped everything. (Got to have instant happiness!)

To buy the jazziest car - and to compete with all the gals and guys at the office with this weeks newest and latest razzle dazzle wardrobe -

or have designer children - oh no OUR kids could not be seen in public without designer label clothes -

He did not force people to have a Ben Hur production wedding costing half the price of a house! - and the round the world honeymoon.

Or to want the whole house furnished with only the best will do avant garde furniture - before the wedding day!

And the latest of everything.

But of course - these people do not want to take out health insurance. Can't afford it they say. as they go to the races - buy a wad of Tattslotto tickets - and eat out three times a week.

So they pile into the public hospital system - and get everthing for nothing - even though the premiums would be petty cash to them. Taxpayers foot the bill.
But boy do these people save heaps!

And this "brave new race" of women - so beloved of the glossy magazines - are now having elective "cosmetic" chldbirth surgery. Yep. They can't hack the thought of natural childbirth - so painfuil and messy - and the play-gear will be ruined for life they shreek! "cos it has to strech - for half a minute! Might get a prolapse - or other horrors - in fifty years time. Canlt have that! What if the baby's big - oh oh oh!!

So these brave lassies are booking in their designer caesareans - at a date and place to suit them. And praying hard they won't go into natural childbirth fast in the interim. Much nicer - none of that screeching and bleeding! Bet the poor old sucker taxpayers are paying for all this selfish and dangerous self-indulgence though.

It's a wonder Howard can sleep at night - the guilt of knowing everything rotten that happens in OZ is really your fault would keep you up all night. No wonder he looks "worm" eaten Chuck!! Wouldn't you - especially in such a thankless job.
