contract law.. watso forgets the exact wording, but basically a person cannot be bound by a contract, to which he is not a party.. ie in a commercial sense, senator canavan's mom could not go to harvey norman, and contract on her sons behalf to buy a tv on no deposit down, and interest free for 5 years
