We all know Wolgen et al aren't too keen on cosmetic applications for CUV1647 / Melanotan, but it seems many are - ABC News tonight had a story about some British women using Melanotan to get a nice tan (transcript not up yet on the website, might be on iView shortly).
Obviously there was the usual hand wringing about not knowing the dangers with an unapproved and unregulated product etc but they were very nice tans all the same.
It seems that if CUV1647 is approved for any of the five indications being targeted, the door is wide open to off label prescriptions for cosmetic uses. Looks like there might be a massive market if people are already buying unknown product off the internet and subjecting themselves to 10 daily injections to look good.
