    Interesting this.
I bought a new pressure pump for the house some time ago. I bought a Davey as the previous one lasted for about 15 years and Davey is made in Australia, has great bearings in it.

I have found out since that these things are mostly made in China with the bearings made in Australia and they are assembled in China. I was pissed off to say the least. Even when you try to buy Australian now you may not be buying what you think you are.

Here is another thing that pisses me off. I own a John Deere ride on mower, a fairly old one now, they are made in the US.
It chews cutter deck drive belts which are just a fan belt really with some material on the outside to make it stronger.

Two years ago or thereabouts they were costing me about $38 aud and now they are $76 aud. Now surely some one in Australia could make a fan belt for half that cost. I will never buy another US made machine just because of the cost of parts. I will be buying an Australian made machine next time.
