Back to wind!

- The capacity of the existing network in the WMZ to host large scale inverter-connected generation has likely been reached, or will be reached by the time already-committed projects are integrated. New and existing generation across large parts of the WMZ will be materially constrained for significant periods of time pending large-scale network investment. This will not only restrict commercial output, but may prevent or delay completion of commissioning for new projects.
Connections in Low System Strength Zones
A few years ago "Clean Energy Investor Group, which represents large investors holding $9 billion across 49 energy assets nationwide, said three Victorian wind farms delayed in the past year could have supplied 7 per cent of the state’s total energy demand if not for hold-ups connecting to the grid." Gridlock on the electricity grid: the bottleneck stalling the transition to renewables in Victoria (theage.com.au)
Building wind farm is relatively cheap and quick - Connection are not! Existing grid connection infrastructure from prior or current coal is already there.
I can run at a bit over 18km per hour! Suggesting I could do a 2 hour marathon given that speed is rubbish. 500 -1000 metres perhaps
Building huge part time power systems anywhere that has little to no capacity to connect to the power grid safely and effectively is an issue all over the world.
