There are similar sized bases (20m diameter x 3m deep) going in at the Macintyre Wind Farm in traprock country just west of Warwick in SE Qld. They are for 5.7MW Turbines and the story there is that they won't become much larger because they are already at the limit for transporting the 163m blades by road. There will be 180 turbines with a total rating of just over 1 GW.

The blades arrive at the port of Brisbane and are individually transported on specially modified trailers in the early hours of the morning with a police escort from the port up the Toowoomba 2nd range crossing, out to Millmerran, across to Inglewood then back towards Warwick. It would have been a much shorter road trip to go up the range at Cunninghams Gap to Warwick but the blades were too long to handle the curves in the road.

The planned life for the Nordex Delta 4000 turbines is 30 years after which Acciona expects to replace the Nacelle and Blades with similar sized units to go for another similar period of time.
