I have a 5kW solar system with a battery ready inverter (according to the installer) and thinking seriously of installing a battery to power lighting at night (8kWhrs load) with any surplus energy stored during the day. Have any of you guys calculated what the cents / kWh figure is for the energy used from a Redflow battery? The installer says battery power is costing 25 to 30 cents / kWhr currently. Energy from the provider is 25 cents. The installer is saying to hold off on installing a battery until cost of battery power drops below 20 cents. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this? The installer has definitely heard of Redflow and knew units for the domestic market were close to being released which was pleasing. Thx
