If you paid $42 for fish and chips for 2, you got ripped off. I wouldn't have paid that amount even if I was a millionaire. Businesses that take the piss shouldn't be supported, especially as you said it was an inferior product.

I don't buy the argument regarding the cost of running a business as the reason for charging $42. More substantial meals cost less, so a few spuds and 2 fillets of battered fish, with no tables/linen/cutlery/waiter staff/decor etc, is purely a rip off.
