Atomou, the biggest spenders out there are the middle class, the people who want everything now the new house, car, plasma, etc. and they are doing it on credit. The super rich of this world your bermuda cash hiding tax evading lot are paying cash, and most of their spending is oversea's not in Aus.
Misty, I agree with you that spending is not the only cause of the rise of living, but the point I was making was that by spending above our means and buying on credit is hurting us, the more we put on credit and spending money on things that are not essential is going to bite us. As we spend and rack up more dedt we need more income to cover the bills so who do we go to get more money our employers and the government and ask for more, so wages go up, so in turn does everything else. it's just a vicous circle and we are the only ones who can stop it.
Unless we really want to become a welfare state (more then we have now) we need to save and lookout for our own futures as the governments no mater weather lab or lib aren't going to do it for us both their answers is welfare for all, because it buy's vote's.
