watso has no idea if it is true or not - but came across the following

"The high price of nuclear power
ACCORDING to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation report Introducing Nuclear Power to Australia: An Economic Comparison, a nuclear reactor would produce electricity at a cost of $70 a megawatt hour if it was not subsidised by the Government. And seeing that the federal Treasurer has said a nuclear industry should not get tax breaks, I assume it will not be subsidised and will indeed produce electricity at $70 a megawatt hour."

just an interesting from the point of view, that i saw a chinese nuclear sceintist, on tv, say that australia was not ready for nuclear power - maybe it had something to do with the cost, relative to population density - watso cannot recall
