in ascertaining inventory values, how do you propose to do that without knowing your COP ?
OK, if you say use market value. well if you value it that way, the cost of goods sold which is derived using input from opening/closing inventory values will be distorted and will not equate to the COP.
we are after the undistorted value of COP arent we ?
