Kenny you conveniently disregard history... Helen coonan was telstra's arch enemy.... she wanted to provide a billion dollars to Optus for regional infrastructure. Telstra sued the coalition as a result. The ACCC under the Coalition launched a couple of Competition Notices against Telstra.
The fact is both parties are not Telstra-friendly because there are more voters who don't own Telstra shares than there are who do.
