An article today highlights what I beleive is the levy situation. Ie. people like to do it themselves, but resent any government that compels them to do anything. Especially if it is perceived as unfair in application.
One aspect that I have not seen addressed is this; Many people who do an annual tax return do not have to lodge this year's return until about March 2012. In other words those people, and there are plenty, will not be 'contributing' until a year from now?
