I think his values might be a bit like mine.

I had a religious period but gave it away. It left me with a Christian ethical viewpoint without the mysticism.

I feel Costello is in the same boat. His Labor indoctrination also labels him as having a small L Liberal leaning.

I believe he could be a good balance between a capatilist ethos and concern for the disadvantaged.

Always hard to tell till the chance is given I know, but I would rather him that Nelson or Abbott or Turnbull etc.
