Plenty of others besides broking houses made money today.
Plenty who bought in around mid 7s 12 days ago, or eight trading days, sold today at open for 14 cents or very close to it.
I learnt a while back that you can make good money with stocks like SDL by buying low and selling high, but in the meantime you can make a hell of a lot more having a trading parcel and selling when it's had a run and things turn a bit sour.
I couldn't believe it held 14 cents for so long on open.
Even though I don't think the news is that bad for SDL I still thought it would get hit hard on open, as many people spook easily, but it seems plenty of buyers had orders in and were unaware of the announcement unless they were on Hotcopper at the time.
Still think SDL will go a lot higher. I honestly believe it's worth more than 20 cents - much more.
So now we wait and if the price drops, buy some more.
I use to buy and hold stocks I believed in, but got sick of being a sitting duck and getting smashed every time there was bad news, or perceived bad news, so now I hold some and trade plenty.
