Costs for Lithium Hydroxide Versus Brine Producers

As I understand it, the traditional evaporation process used by brine producers creates a lithium carbonate. EV makers like Tesla are switching to a higher purity product lithium hydroxide. How are brine producers dealing with that industry switch? Are they feeding lithium carbonate to companies that convert this into lithium hydroxide? How does the cost of producing lithium hydroxide from spodumene (rock form of lithium) compare to the costs of producing from lithium carbonate? If you look at the whole lifecycle and costs of the infrastructure to mine and produce each form, what are the relative costs to produce lithium hydroxide from rock versus brine?
