Hi Barboris, I have no idea on numbers but expect that we at least need to replace those that have passed on so we don’t get a net fall in immigration. Even more importantly given our ageing population we need to have more people of working age here so that basically we can afford to look after the elderly whose life spans are increasing but are unable to work. As to the formula we can only put our trust in the experts who crunch all the numbers and hopefully come up with reasonably correct calculations based on the needs of the country. The racist thing is a seperate issue and I appreciate that many of those who think our immigration is too high don’t have racist motivations.
However, based on postings there are a minority here who appear to be influenced by race or culture considerations.
