If it wasn't for me following HotCopper in recent months I would have been one of the non voting shareholders.
For years I abandoned watching my portfolio. Every now and then I would get a cheque for the proceeds of a takover.
I guess a lot of shareholders assume that the BoD of company do the right thing by the shareholders. Or they think their vote won't make any difference.
IMO.
