Couer was the best performer on HUI index last night, up a wopping 6.97%

CDE the US traded component reports quarterly results on Thursday 6th August

Worth keeping an eye on today, looked like it was being held back yesterday with afew smaller trades and large sells went fairly quickly.

Closed at US$15.19 and held at US$15.17 in afterhours trading (up 6.97% for day being an equivalent A$18.33

I stand to be corrected but believe that other than ETPMAG, CXC remains the only true Silver play listed on the ASX and they both closed much the same yesterday A$16.85 and A$16.90 respectively.

Reasoning for strong rally in CDE??

Short covering in US (was heavily shorted sometime ago)?
Plunging US$ index now at 77.57?
Rally in price of Silver?
Anticipation of quarterly results to be released 06/08/09?
