That speech was rather pathetic. I couldn't bear waste me time to read it all, it was painful to realize the intellect of some people in Goverment. Is this how we things get done, by begging? Furthermore I felt that a bottle of Snapple has more facts. I started to laugh about this bit...
"Regardless of whether it is still within the Australian drinking standards, it is still contamination. It is not acceptable, and UCG is not one of those technologies that should be pursued."
So the Australian drinking standards aren't good enough for her, well best she start complaining to the organization that sets those standards.
Another thing that interests me in her speech.
"If one person can tell me of one UCG project in the world that is successful, by all means tell me, because the group of people who is fighting UCG have not yet found it. I have asked and I have asked and I have asked for months for an example. Not one has come forward."
The answer is the power plant in Angren, Uzbekistan that is still in operation for almost 50 years. She may have found that doing a simple search in Google for "UCG commercial operation" results in Angren on the first hit. And who in the UCG industry doesn't know about Angren? Maybe nobody in the UCG industry wanted to talk to her, I wouldn?t.
