Very succinctly and factually put, in my opinion.

I am strongly in favour of "Going for the Doctor" against those you mentioned, and any others who were party to this deplorable act.
As you have correctly pointed out, there is not only a dangerous precedent being set,there are important democratic and ethical principles already traduced and in dire need of redress.
