    Agree. I think vanadium will take off once a few large BESS based on VRFB are successfully commissioned and operated. The fact that VRFB batteries are rated to last 25 years and the vanadium electrolyte can be recycled is an enormous advantage over Li ion batteries for grid scale purposes.

    There is probably some way to go for vanadium to be economically. What is the best go to market model is also up for debate. Ultimately I believe vanadium will be the go to metal for grid scale batteries.

    Grid scale batteries are essential in Australia as the rapid shut down of coal fired electricity generation has already started. And already the massive Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro battery project is years behind. The opportunities for VRFB in Australia are enormous.
