Iran are building nuclear weapons and sponsoring a civil war in Iraq they don't really give a toss about what the US, Europe and Russia think. China would probably give them a high five. And if they did they certainly wouldn't be worried about a mining dispute which they will write off as UCL's fault (no matter what happens). Internationally mining scandal no - one of the risks of doing business in dodgy countries - yes.
How on earth is this going to be raised on an international level by governments? How will pay for high level lobbyists in each country and lawyers for the Hague?
I can't really see the Iranians getting forced into a corner and shelling out 200 million.
Truth is they have shafted UCL and will do so because they can and they're dodgy. I wish good luck for UCL but I wouldn't be betting on them.
