Where in the world are local government bodies allowed to make policy on gas drilling? What idiocy! This is of national importance or at least at State, which Britain does not have. NIMBYS have no place in such matters. Lancashire is dotted with rotting, squalid old coal miners' villages like Burnley which has the lowest property prices in the UK, homelessness, appalling houses with damp and decay, homeless, huge welfare dependency, local government destitution, and poverty at the worst level.
