Excellent point. BHP and Rio are both nationally, ideologically and commercially closely aligned already, The likely purchase price would be a doddle for either of the two. Rio would in this case not be the sticking point as they are now, and KAH would get their price. External/sovereign attempts have a much harder job ahead of them to acquire a majority stake. And lets not forget the spectre of the RSPT. The next 3 months will dictate the outcome. Bring it on.
