Mozz, a couple of points.

1. After the election, the Greens are likely to hold the balance of power in the Senate. The Greens have said that they support the RSPT but not the 40% Government underwriting provisions. That being the case, they won't support it through the Senate. Ken Henry has supposedly said that if the 40% underwriting isn't included, then there's no point having the RSPT. Given these 2 positions, it seems that RSPT is unlikely to go through.

2. As a resident of Polliewood, I'm regularly bemused by the notion that the political representatives of other states/territories and who only live here a few weeks a year are suddenly not worldly wise and out of touch. Ironically, Tony Abbott, Libs and NP reps who live here as much as KRudd and co, are seen as being wordly wise because they reject the RSPT. If people want to blame anyone, look at the Queenslander and his troica of tools (Gillard and Tanner Vic, Swan Qld). If interstaters want to vent their spleen over the RSPT, vent it at the federal ALP representatives in their state, don't take the easy option of blaming a Territory that has 4 representative in the Federal parliament. It's an easy cop out to blame Canberra rather than the parliamentarians representing voters in every state and territory. If the RSPT comes in, blame the rest of the country, not just Canberra.
