Following China's recent restriction of graphite exports and the escalating tensions between the IS and China comes the above article speculating a China export ban/restriction on tungsten.
The USA has already legislated a ban on importing tungsten from China from early 2026, but this article speculates China's response to this could be an outright ban and a lot sooner than 2026.
With Albanese currently in talks with Biden in Washington, and with our Resources Minister, Madeleine King also over there, she will be establishing a taskforce and hosting some roundtable discussions on how to allocate a newly announced $2 Billion of funding to assist the USA in its critical mineral supply chain issues.
To quote todays AFR article;

"The taskforce agreed to immediately begin mapping Australian and US supply chains to identify gaps and to nurture deeper co-operation between the two countries.
The roundtable was expected to cut out companies that have not started producing and focus on those which are, helping the US move faster to a more self-reliant critical minerals processing and manufacturing position."

There is no doubt that this space is a space to which - there is ever increasing urgent in the race to secure critical mineral supply and our Government is throwing lots of money at it.

Fortunately, as a critical mineral producer of tungsten (perhaps THE most critical, if China is looking to ban it), I would expect that we qualify to be in the spotlight.
