What do you mean they have done nothing for five years? They have done nothing for 1-2 years. Look on the NOPTA electronic approval tracking system and you can see that they have completed geotechnical studies between 13/08/2015 and 12/02/2019. Its true that they did not complete their drill exploration well and 3d seismic survey (which has supposedly already been removed if this article is to be believed https://coastcommunitynews.com.au/central-coast/news/2020/01/3d-seismic-testing-cancelled/) but you can see that other permits have had similar time frames.
It's unimpressive that Advent Energy did not drill in 2020, but not unprecedented.
