Very interesting article in the Australian this morning about the CEO of Intel geing terminated. It seems he doesn't have sufficient enginerring knowledge to take them in the direction they now want to go. It also mentioned that they are some way down the track on development of new chips which, although not explicitly stated, seemed to include the potential of 3rd party IP.
Intel lost its mantle as the top US chip maker a while ago and the market has been punishing them of late for their slide. It makes some kind of sense that they might follow Renases to fast track some new product and get the jump on their competitors.
These are my mental ramblings not facts and as FF says on occassion I am just another faceless contributor. DYOR
