could mpo be a j/v in atp855?

i posted the comments below on the MPO forum.

YES to some of HC posters - this is ALL pure speculation!

but to me, it has legs.

RJ obviously has plans afoot.

he needs shale gas expertise, and a j/v partner with money.

MPO has BOTH! - and its Australian!

AND, its an alternative to Beach!

i was reading that preso - they say getting out of CSG and expand shale.
out of CSG because they do not have scale.

but keen on shale because they have scale (in USA/canada) BUT - BUT ALSO they have the experience!!!

one thing MPo has obtained with its assets in US is that experience - in house experience

there would not be many Aust coys with that sort of experience.
MPO also has CASH - $$$$ and plenty of it.
If it sells CSG assets it will have more cash.

So, my point is - where can MPO utilise those skills and $??

MPo would not be interested in a t/o of ICN !

BUT, ICN are looking for j/v partners for ICN shale assets in C/B.
they are currently fight-off Beach- thery wanted Beach because Beach has experience in shale.
But MPO probably has more experience.

what a perfect partnership for MPO to farmin to ICN permit ATP855 in C/B?
that permit looks to be huge! and the resource possibly better quality than USA areas.

its in Aust
no FIRB problems
its in MPO stated area of interest
it got scale
its totally undeveloped
it has huge, huge upside potential
it would enable MPO to add huge value
MPo could be operator
MPO would not need to raise cash to de-risk asset
plenty of infrastructure there.
no problems with Govt - SA Govt chomping at bit to get an LNG industry going in SA.

only problem is the resolution of beach legal arguement.
that will resolve itself soon
