I think you are being over pessimistic about the future in your scenario.
It could be well argued that the opposite is a result from a minority government with Greens holding power in the Senate.
Such a scenario would, in my opinion give a greater opportunity to hold a government to account with the various, very often competing interests in our nation having a say in any legislation proposed before the house.
I think we all saw the result of the government having control in the Senate with the disgraceful Work choices legislation that was introduced and past by the Howard government.
