Nice to see we all still keeping abreast of new developments, poss competitors & tech etc.

If this is the same Ric Richardson then it may have to do with Blockchain tech, crypto currency and its security - which would tie in with Macquarie being involved - seeing in the Fin business. Most likely not a direct biometric competitor as I see it so far.

Was just a quick scan as not a lot of time atm (will maybe dig deeper later if chance) but here is a link to Richardson and a cut paste of some of his inventions / projects - the one highlighted comes up as (Haven) which could be the one? CA stands for Certificate Authority...or basically authentication / authorisation on the task being undertaken.

The asterisk next to it denotes it is a JV or being done by a related company as explained in the website link.
