could someone please explain this

The media report says that passenger numbers have dropped and gives the impression that this is a negative result.

And yet, in the 'preliminary operating statistics' the Revenue is very positive.

e.g Revenue Passenger Kilometres:- Domestic up 3.1% and International up 23.8%

From what I am reading in this report of 27th May, it seems very positive with recent developments and announcments.

Do I have this right or wrong?
