If the announcement includes all the assay results, the announcement could be over 5 pages long.

While management verify and tie up the wordings of the announcement, the trading of the stock must be halted to prevent any rumours leaking into the market. Simple as that, nothing to be worried about with the stock being in a trading halt, but it does make for a few nervous nights of sleep.
