    I live near South Johnstone. The last scam we had here, that saw perfectly good cane land sold off, was the tree farming thing from about 15 years ago. Cane farmers were paid ridiculous amounts for their land. The tree farming companies went broke (small wonder) and now much of that land is back under sugar cane. South Johnstone sugar mill has expanded its throughput exponentially in the last couple of years. Mourilyan Harbour exports sugar, woodchip and live cattle.
