I think irrespective of another counter bid or not LGL is about to break out on a technical basis and I am looking for a run to the $5 over the next fortnight , with the USD gold price in this period clearing $1300.

This article says it all and I suspect that the gold price will start anticipating the next round of Bernanke stimulus. Now that options expiry is out of the way the gold price will be "free" to clear the usd $1250 level and I expect this to happen in the US this evening.
