Also, just quietly, that SMH article hurts my brain.

It says stuff like "Australia is perfectly placed to become the next global superpower of renewable energy, the "Saudi Arabia of solar" for the coming century."

They seem to be implying that we could export power somehow. Denmark (which I brought up earlier because it's also been in the news) exports electricity to its neighbours because they are *right there*. Australia would need to push power a long way down an undersea wire to get to any of our neigbours, and impedence/resistance makes it a bad idea at those sorts of distances.

What would be great for Australia would be to be the home of the world's best wave and solar tech. That's something we could export.
