Australia has no boat people problem.
We have an Australian vision problem.
We created that problem by seeing refugees as
vermin who need punishment (at vast taxpayer
expense) not as people in dire distress who
need asylum and help to settle in Australia
and to become productive citizens who
pay taxes that won't be wasted on
racist vermin-hunting follies.
The best way to fix our vision problem is
to see refugees as assets, not liabilities.
We see the world as we are, not as it is.
If we change how we see the world and
refugees, they and the world will change
into a better, kinder and warmer place.
Refugees are not the real problem.
Fear of refugees is the problem.
Fear knocked at the door.
Faith opened the door.
Nobody was there.
