I think the crew are charged & placed in custody awaiting trail. I imagine by the time their case is heard that would be enough time served and they would be released and deported. However, I'm not sure this is the case. I'm pretty positive the boats are crewed by Indonesians, maybe 1 or 2, again I'm not sure. I guess identification would be a problem of sorts, maybe the simple way to identify them would be their language.
