So far in excess of 90% of the "boat people" have eventually been found to be refugees.
What is the damage done to those people and the cost to the community which will take them eventually ?

Why don't we spend a large part of the money wasted now on improving the situation in countries like Sri Lanka and Afghanistan? Australia has contributed to the current situation in Afghanistan and looked the other way with Sri Lanka.
